Amazing Women and Adventures

March 8th is International Women’s Day. Many of us have embarked on a “Girls Weekend or Trip” with a few of our closest friends. I am actually traveling this week with some of my dearest friends. Our connections span back through a couple of decades (more than I want to admit). But would you consider traveling with a group of unfamiliar women?
Women-only trips are the hot new trend in travel, offering an exciting mix of adventure, camaraderie, and empowerment. These experiences are catching on fast, with companies like Road Scholar and Insight Vacations expanding their women-only offerings. Imagine exploring Maine's rugged coastline or wandering through ancient Egyptian wonders with a group of like-minded women—it's all about the girl power vibes!
It's not just younger women jumping on this bandwagon; the trend is reaching across generations. Older women are now taking solo trips more than ever before, and travel companies are taking note. Intrepid Travel, Trafalgar and Backroads are a few travel companies providing female focused group travel. AdventureWomen has been paving the way for safe and empowering travel experiences for women since 1982, and more companies have joined the movement.
With women making 82% of travel decisions and projected to control 75% of discretionary spending by 2028, this market is booming. The days of pink amenities and condescending travel packages are long gone; today’s female travelers crave genuine adventures that speak to their interests. Imagine celebrating the women of Egyptian history while sailing down the Nile, hiking with a women-only group through Banff, or biking through France with other women cheering you on!
What's really special about these trips is the connections and personal growth they foster. Picture yourself on a gravel-riding trip in Montana, pushing your limits and drawing inspiration from your fellow female cyclists. Or maybe you're having deep, heartfelt conversations on a Camino Walk in Portugal. These experiences are more than just travel; they are opportunities to forge lasting friendships and create unforgettable memories. As more women embrace the thrill of solo and single-gender travel, the industry will keep evolving to meet their needs with diverse and enriching experiences tailored just for them.
Would you consider a women-only adventure? What would be your ideal trip? High activity? Exploration and learning? Or community and connections? Perhaps your adventure will be a combination of all three. I'd love to get you there. I am blessed to be with my "squad" this week as we celebrate each other, our joys, our challenges and our friendship.
Keep exploring and loving one another!
Kim
